I have a vision
I see nemesis pursuing them;
They that gouge peace from Africa.
I see them running
Their destination full of confusion
So far, never to reach.
I see a mound of Cankerworm around them,
Their glorified lives are covered
With shame at their end.
Even as they look strong,
Infringing upon rights,
Their days would yet be as bitter
As I see in my vision.
I have a vision,
I see the weak strong again,
I see the strong oppressors at their weakest,
I see a forest of doom,
Where they will dwell.
The rejected Stone becomes the corner stone
Which peace resides upon
In my vision.
I have a vision,
I see whoever thinks of Africa’s greatness,
Whoever supports Africa’s growth,
Whoever believes in the ability
Of humanity everywhere,
Whoever stands for justice,
Whoever stands for unity,
Whoever is awake for freedom,
Rejoicing at their victory.
I see all the calamity of the poor
Being exchanged.
I have a vision
Of a ghetto song –
Freedom painted on the lips
Of those who have long been oppressed
Depressed and Devalued
In chains of poverty.
In my vision,
I hear a victorious chant
A song of upliftment
This vision remains on the mind
Of every victim of the third-world….
I HAVE A VISION OF A BETTER AFRICA
