17-Month-Old Girl Finally Found After Her Father’s Car Was Stolen With Her In It

17-month-old Maria Tudorica has been found hours after she was
declared missing when a man drove off in her father’s car while she was
in it.

Police launched a desperate search for the Romanian toddler after a
thief posing as a prospective car buyer stole her father’s Audi A5 at
4.35pm on Sunday in Nine Acres Close in Newham. The car was later found
but the child was not in it and it was feared that she was in grave
danger. 

Maria was found about three hours after in about a third-of-a-mile
from where the car was taken, the Metropolitan Police said at 8pm on
Sunday, December 6.

The police tweeted:

Delighted to report that missing child Maria Tudorica, aged 17 months, has now been found safe and well in the Ruskin Avenue.

Maria’s uncle, Gheorghe Stelica, said he felt “born again” at the news of his niece being found. 

He said:

God bless. I feel born again. I feel I am a new guy. I feel over
1,000 times relief. (My brother) he’s happy. He thanks the police so
much for their service.
