
No fewer than 21,524 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties from Plateau North Senatorial district on Thursday defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to mobilize voters for the success of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Plateau Governorship candidate, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang during the 2023 general elections.

The decampees were led by the former Minister of Information and Communication, Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande from Jos North among others who pledged their loyalty towards delivering all PDP candidates standing for elective positions in the February and March general elections.
The state chairman of the party, Hon. Chris Hassan who received the decampees at the Atiku/Mutfwang campaign flag off rally for Plateau North, held at Langfield Resort in Jos South, assured the decampes that the party will carry them along in all its activities before and after the elections.
Hassan called on Plateau people to reject APC in the next election and vote PDP 5/5 to unify and rebuild Plateau and Nigeria.
Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang on his part told his party Faithfuls that the state has always voted for PDP since 1999 till date.
He note that the state made a mistake for voting APC into power in 2015 which led to the current hardship and agony but said the people have resolved to vote PDP back to power in 2023.
Jang said with the mass turn out of Plateau people to PDP rally in Plateau South and North, hevbelieved that the former National Chairman of the party, Chief Solomon Lar was happy in his grave.
He noted that Plateau people are known for PDP and urged them to be committed to deliver all PDP candidates in the forth coming general election.
The Governorship candidatebof the party in the state Barr Caleb Mutfwang admonished Plateau people to get their PVCs and exercise their franchise in the general elections election.
“Don’t allow anybody to deceive you, get your PVCs and resist the pressure of APC from buying your votes. We are assure you that both women and the youths will be given adequate attention when we get into government.” He stated.
He prayed for a peaceful election and urged the people to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during and after the election.
Former Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe and Nigeria former Ambassador to Switzerland, Yahaya Kwande appealed to the people of Plateau to vote PDP for the prosperity of the state and Nigeria.
On his part, the party’s Senatorial candidate for Plateau North Senatorial district Dr Simon Mwadkwon who responded on behalf of the contestants at the forth coming general election said they would not take the opportunity given to fly the party’s tickets at the general election for granted.
He urged their Supporters to vote for all PDP candidates from top to bottom.
