40-year Old Man Allegedly Rapes 31-year Old Woman (Read Details)

40-year old Olalekan Yinka has been arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State for allegedly raping a 31-year old woman. Yinka, who lives at 16, Igbele Durojaiye Street, Ota, is facing a count charge of rape, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Abdulkareem Mustapha told the court that accused allegedly raped the lady at his residence on Dec. 2, at 9.30 p.m. Mustapha said that the offence contravened Section 360 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

Chief Magistrate Matthew Akinyemi admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N140, 000 with two sureties in like sum. Akinyemi ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed.

In addition, the sureties should also show evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government, as part of the bail conditions. He adjourned the case until January 7, for further hearing.
