Awaken to music
Imagine waking up to a day that began with a sonic boom or with the sun suddenly bursting into the sky each morning like a floodlight. When you awaken to a clock radio blasting the news, a Pepsi commercial, or just a jarring alarm, it could feel like that. Think about treating yourself a little more kindly. Try waking up to a piece of music you are accustomed to listening to that makes you feel good and eases you into the day like a lovely sunrise or a lover’s touch.
Sing to the tunes
Try singing if you want to increase the benefits of listening to music. One of the finest methods to slow down and regulate breathing and encourage relaxation is through singing. Singing has the power to change the vibrations of our thoughts and the very cells in our bodies. Sing while getting ready in the morning, while driving, or just before bed. You can sing along with a recording or “a capella.” Just savor the symphony that is filling your body. Choose songs that you know will improve your mood, motivate you, or help you relax if you’re going to sing.
Play some tunes
Play some music in the morning, whether you are an experienced musician or you are just starting to learn how to play an instrument. Simple scales or basic exercises, a well-known song, or something improvised can all be used. Playing music engages more brain regions than any other activity, making it like a mega-vitamin for the body. It’s amazing how much music can influence our emotions, thinking processes, and even our physical health.
Reproduce using music
Unfortunately, there is a negativity bias built into our brain. Our brain has more neurons devoted to responding to and processing negative thoughts and stimuli than happy ones because prehistoric man’s primary desire for survival and self-preservation. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we have a tendency to hold onto unpleasant sensations longer and repeat them more frequently, which amplifies the vibrations that cause anxiety and terror. This is one of the reasons it can be challenging to stop the downward spiral when tension and anxiety are at an all-time high. Music can help us relax, even if it requires more work to activate the area of our brains that reassures us it’s alright to do so.
Dance to the music
If you regularly workout, consider bringing music with you. If you use music as your own personal coach and companion, anything from a morning run or stroll to yoga or stretching can become easier and more fun. Once more, it’s crucial that you select music that appeals to you and that you are confident will have the desired effect. Take note of the musical genres that motivate you and help you feel good about yourself because this may take a little trial and error to get right at first.
