In the Mile 3 neighborhood of Diobu on Elechi Street in Port Harcourt, the state capital, a stairway in an abandoned one-story structure is said to have collapsed on a man who was thought to be a scavenger. The individual was discovered dead.
When our journalist went there, she saw that the walls were damaged and that weeds had taken over the one-story building.
Speaking about the incident, Godstime Ihunwo, the Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu Oroworukwo Mile 3 Diobu, stated that at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, he was notified that several thugs were smoking what appeared to be hard narcotics inside the building.
Ihunwo, who is also a part of the local vigilante organization Diobu, claimed that after organizing his guys to respond to the spot, the thugs had already fled.
He claimed that miscreants had previously informed the Diobu Vigilante Service group about their actions, which included turning the structure into a smoking site.
“I quickly mobilized my men to the scene based on the fresh complaints by residents of 38 Elechi Streets, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt, where hoodlums usually go and smoke hard drugs,” he added.
