Joseph Ameh, a worker at the Dangote Refinery, lost his life on Thursday after he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident in the Lagos state neighborhood of Ibeju Lekki.
The driver managed to escape in his car before the throng could catch up with him, making capture attempts futile.
“It happened about 7 pm last night that one guy was just walking on the pedestrian side of the road near Golf Bustop when suddenly a speeding private vehicle ran into him,” the witness told our correspondent.
He continued by saying that it was his ID card, which proved he was a Dangote Cement employee, that the cops from Elemero Police Station noticed when they arrived to remove the body. Joseph Ameh was his name, and he was just 39 years old.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, verified the occurrence when he was called.
“The body was recovered bruised, however it has been removed from the road and deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation,” the Superintendent of Police revealed.
