3,234 people in the state public sector have been found to be receiving salary unlawfully by the Kano State Government.
Similarly, among the ineligible personnel hired by the former administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje are kids from primary and secondary schools, a 13-year-old girl, and National Youth Service Corps members, the government has uncovered.
In an interview with reporters regarding the findings of the committee the state government formed to look into illegal recruiting, Secretary to the State Government Dr. Abdullahi Bichi revealed these.
Over 10,000 public employees who were hired during the conclusion of the previous governor’s administration had their salaries immediately suspended, as instructed earlier by Governor Abba Yusuf.
He claims the committee found that the previous administration overlooked the financial effects of the 2023 appropriation, even with the hurried employment process.
He disclosed that providing 9,332 people with suitable credentials with job chances is one of the recommendations approved by the administration.
He promised to impose the proper penalties, particularly on the government servants who carried out the activity in accordance with the regulations governing civil service.
