Abducted Sokoto bride, her parents and friends regained freedom after seven weeks in captivity

A bride, her parents and friends abducted by bandits in Chacho village, Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, have regained freedom after seven weeks in captivity.
LIB reported that bandits stormed the community on Sunday, November 30, 2025 and abducted the bride and others just hours before her wedding ceremony.
The victims were released on Monday, January 19, 2026 following ransom payments.
According to journalist, Bakatsine, they are currently receiving medical care at Isa Hospital.
