Chief Alaba Lawson, the Iyalode of Yorubaland and a former national president of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, has passed away.
Early on Saturday morning, the well-known educationist and creator of the well-liked Alaba Lawson Group of Schools, Abeokuta, passed away.
AbdulRahman Maku, the Executive Secretary of the Abeokuta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, signed a statement containing the news of her passing.
“We regret to announce the demise of NACCIMA past President and ABEOCCIMA Matron and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, MFR, JP (Iyalode of Yorubaland) which occurred in the early hours of today, Saturday 28th of October, 2023,” stated a statement partially provided to journalists on Saturday morning. The family will later disclose the burial plans. May Iyalode’s soul rest in peace, according to God Almighty.
