Alleged humiliation: Olusola Oke replies Ondo APC
The impending defection of a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Olusola Oke SAN, has continued to heat up the polity in the state.
Oke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who has twice vied for the governorship seat in the state, had last week hinted his supporters on his plan to dump the APC for a yet-to-be announced party over alleged humiliation and marginalization.
But debunking the grievances raised by Oke, the APC publicity secretary in the state, Alex Kalejaye, had in a statement, emphasized that Oke is well respected by the Governor and by the chairman of the party.
In the statement, Kalejaye further assured that the grievances raise by him and his loyalists would be looked into.
However, the Olusola Oke camp has responded to the statement by Kalejaye by advising the APC spokesperson to steer clear of issues raised, stressing that he is not capable in meddling into such.
The statement signed by Oke’s media assistant, Rotimi Ogunleye, on Wednesday and made available to DAILY POST, reads: “We read in the news the statement authored by Mr Alex Kalejaye on behalf of APC, Ondo sate chapter this morning that the party respects Chief Olusola Oke, SAN.
“We assume the writer of the said press statement lacks information as regards the issue he dabbles into and, as such, admit his innocence in good faith.
“Much as we wouldn’t want to join issues with the party or any of its agents, we also warn that none of the agents or the representatives of the party should force Chief Oke and his supporters to speak out.
“Rather, Chief Oke believes the agents of the party should allow him and his supporters to maintain their deliberate silence on issues for now,” the statement read.
