When an electric transformer exploded on Saturday in the Plateau State town of Gada Biu, several people were presumed dead.
It was discovered that the tragedy, which took place about three in the morning on Saturday, also wrecked some nearby homes and businesses.
Residents claimed that the transformer had exploded, causing the nearby buildings and shops to catch fire and causing the victims to perish.
When contacted, Alabo Alfred, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, stated they were aware of the fire incident and that an investigation had started to determine what had transpired.
