The chant, ‘Buhari must go’, reigned supreme on Atiku
Abubakar Way in Jimeta, Yola, weekend, when the Adamawa Central
Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mohammed
Murtala Modibbo inaugurated his campaign council.
Modibbo initiated the chant at the event when he said President
Muhammadu Buhari should not be voted back to power because instead of
the change that he promised, many societal evils have worsened since he
became president.
“Boko Haram attacks, kidnapping, herdsmen attacks and widespread
poverty have been on the increase. Buhari must go,” Muhammed said to his
supporters who chanted back, “Buhari must go. Buhari must go.”
Modibbo urged the crowd to reject Buhari and vote Atiku for the Presidency.
“We must vote Atiku to become the next president as well as Umaru
Fintiri (the Adamawa PDP governorship candidate) as our governor,”
Modibbo said, stressing that Nigeria needs the PDP back in government at
all levels to reverse the country’s ‘downward spiral’.
He charged his newly inaugurated 58-member campaign council to
campaign diligently in a door-to-door fashion to ensure his victory come
next year’s general elections.
