French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin informed reporters on Tuesday that Paris police will “significantly enhance security measures” for this week’s Champions League quarterfinal between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. The increased security measures come in response to a threat issued by the Islamic State terror group against the Parc des Princes and other European football stadiums hosting Champions League matches, Darmanin stated.
The London Metropolitan Police announced that a comprehensive policing strategy has been put in place for the Champions League quarterfinal match between Arsenal and Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium, in response to the terrorist threats.
