The contestant representing Congo, Miss Dorcas Kasinde has won the Miss Africa 2018 Calabar.
Kasinde
snatched the crown ahead of Nigeria’s Chimamaka Goodness Nnaemeka and
Zambia’s Gladys Kayumba who came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Miss
Kasinde will cart home a whooping thirty five thousand dollars ($35,000)
and an SUV and will fly the flag of Africanism for the next one year.
She’s
crowned the true African Queen on Africanism by former Queen, Miss
Gaseangwe Balopi on Friday morning in Calabar, Nigeria’s paradise city.
The
1st runner’s up, Miss Nnaemeka bagged home ten thousand dollars
($10,000) while Miss Kayumba carted away five thousand dollars ($5,000)
as 2nd runner’s up.
The beauty pageants were screened to top 5 including, Miss Zambia, Miss Nigeria, Miss Sierra Leone, Miss Congo, and Miss Ghana.
The
top 5 were later reduced to the last 3 finalists; Miss Nigeria, Miss
Zambia, and Miss Congo – where the former emerged as winner after
meeting the requirements to be crowned the Miss Africa 2018 Calabar
Queen.
The Governor of Cross River state was also seen presenting the car keys to the winner Dorcas Kasinde of Congo.
Tiwa Savage was also at the event as she was seen dancing zanku.
