Cristiano Ronaldo made a hand gesture to the Atletico Madrid fans during Juventus’ Champions League defeat on Wednesday.
The
Portuguese received a lot of stick from the home supporters throughout
the last-16 tie due to thefact he represented their bitter rivals Real
Madrid for nine years.
Ronaldo was also on the end of some rough
tackles from the Atletico players, who looked to stamp their authority
on the game at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
During one moment
on Wednesday night there was a break in play and the fans turned on the
former Real Madrid star, chanting a number of things in his direction.
Ronaldo
had been ignoring the stickup until this moment but decided torespond
with a hand gesture that was picked up by fans on social media.
Holding
one hand up towards the crowd Ronaldo spread his fingers apart to make
the number five – the amount of times he has won the Champions League.
