Al-Makura has declared Kayode Fayemi as the winner of the Ekiti governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC). “In accordance with the constitution of the APC, I Tanko Al-Makura, the returning officer of the APC primary election in Ekiti, do hereby declare John Kayode Fayemi, having scored the highest number of votes and having satisfied the required guidelines, the winner of the APC governorship primary election.”
“I will support Fayemi and encourage others to support him. I have no intentions of leaving the party,” says Segun Oni.
‘THE CONTEST TO REGAIN EKITI JUST BEGAN’
Fayemi’s acceptance speech: “This is the day the Lord has made. The people have spoken and the word has been heard resoundingly. This victory is not mine alone, it belongs to all my co-contestants, it belongs to all the people of Ekiti. The contest to regain our land and restore our values just began.”
