Islamic scholar Mufti Menk stated on Friday that when the people of Nigeria support and demand competent leadership at all levels, the country may continue to flourish in its current role as Africa’s giant.
“If you look at the failed nations, it’s because their leaders aren’t respected. However, Nigeria can be the greatest country in Africa if we support the leadership and make sure that each of us makes a constructive contribution to the country,” Menk stated soon after he and his group had a private meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
In order to lead Nigeria to unprecedented prosperity, he underlined the necessity for its citizens to come together as a unified force and to respect and value their leaders.
Mufti Menk identified a crucial component for national success by drawing on the experiences of other countries. She stated, “If you look at the countries that have failed, it’s because they don’t respect their leadership and they actually fail as a result.”
In order for Nigeria to become the greatest country in Africa, he asked its citizens to choose a different course and support their leaders.
“Myself being an African coming from Zimbabwe, we always look at Nigeria as one of the biggest economies, if not the biggest in Africa,” the preacher said, referencing his African heritage and the potential and respect Nigeria commands on the continent.
He urged Nigerians to serve their country with integrity and honesty so that they may serve as a model for the rest of Africa.
Menk revealed that he is “here for the peace and unity convention that is going to be taking place in Abuja this weekend” when talking about the reason for his trip to Nigeria.
