FCT Police commissioner and Lawyer Deji Adeyanju argue over the court order restricting the protest convergence to the MKO Abiola stadium (video)

The FCT Police commissioner, Beneth Igwe, and Lawyer Deji Adeyanju argued this morning, over the court order restricting the protest convergence at the MKO Abiola stadium.

While the police Commissioner insisted that the protesters moved into the stadium to hold the protest as they were disrupting traffic by converging outside the stadium, Deji who is part of the coordinators of the protest, argued that the court order only stated that the protest be restricted to the stadium and was not explicit on whether they should gather inside or outside the stadium.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja had on Wednesday, July 31, issued an order restricting Abuja protesters to the MKO Abiola Stadium in the nation’s capital. The judge gave the order while delivering a ruling in an ex-parte application brought before him by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike.
