The Federal Capital Territory Administration destroyed shanties and unlawful constructions in Jahi District on Wednesday, continuing its commitment to cleanse Abuja of undesired structures.
According to Mr. Mukhtar Galadima, Director of Development Control at FCTA, quoted by the News Agency of Nigeria, the exercise also aimed to revive the Abuja Master Plan and enhance tranquility and security in the nation’s capital.
“What we are doing right now, to a considerable extent, is improving the security architecture of the FCT and the architectural quality of the city.
He explained, “This is why we are demolishing shanties, which will largely improve the tranquility of the capital city.
