Magaji Makau, the district head of Ruwan Rana in Zamfara State’s Bukkuyum Local Government Area, along with five other people, were kidnapped by bandits early on Saturday morning.
In a similar vein, another individual lost their life in the assault.
Mohammed Musa, a local resident, said that the bandits reached Ruwan Rana town early on Saturday morning on motorcycles.
Musa claimed that the bandits entered the town at around three in the morning, started shooting intermittently, and then proceeded to kidnap the district chief and five other notable individuals by going from house to house.
He added that one individual who resisted being taken hostage was slain.
