Five more people have been confirmed dead and a couple, whose names have not yet been revealed, were involved in a car accident in Oogi, Osun State.
People at the accident scene report that the vehicle involved was traveling from Osogbo axis to Ode-Omu when it crashed on Friday night, a few minutes after 7 o’clock. It was reported that the driver lost control of the car, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a ditch, killing some of the people instantly and injuring others.
A resident of Oogi, only known as Adamo, was at the scene of the accident and reported that an adult male Ode-Omu inhabitant was found dead inside the vehicle.
When contacted, Mr. Henry Benamaisia, the FRSC’s Osun Sector Commander, stated that seven people died in the accident and he advised drivers to always follow the law.
In a similar occurrence, a another car crash in Akwa Ibom State’s Itu Local Government Area resulted in the injuries of one person and the confirmed deaths of three others—two ladies and one man.
