General Elections: I Won’t Betray Your Trust, Buhari Tells Nigerians
President Muhammadu Buhari in Sokoto
President Muhammadu Buhari has told Nigerians that he will not betray their trust if they vote him for a second term in office.
The President stated this during his Presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto on Wednesday.
He said if given the second chance his administration will not betray the trust of Nigerians.
The President also reassured his supporters of his anti-corruption war, he said that he will continue to prosecute people involved in corruption.
On Boko Haram, President Buhari said that his administration has been able to tame the activities of Boko Haram terrorists operating in northeastern Nigeria and liberate some of the Local Government Areas under the control of the insurgents.
He reminded the mammoth crowd that gathered at the Giginya Memorial Stadium that in 2015 he campaigned on three key things security, economy, and to fight against corruption, adding that this he has been able to deliver and hoping to do more.
The National Chairman of the party Adams Oshiomhole said the APC will not rig the 2019 election but will defeat any opposition in a free and fair contest.
Oshiohmole believes the crowd at the venue and other parts of the country is a testimony that APC is the party to beat.
On his part, National Leader of the APC and Co-Chairman of the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential campaign Bola Tinubu says Nigeria is on the right track to greatness with the emergence of President Buhari whose credibility and integrity cannot be questioned.
