
Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has presented before the
state House of Assembly a detailed budget estimate for the 2019 fiscal
year put at N285n (two hundred and eighty-five billion naira) for
consideration and quick passage into law.
Presenting the budget
before the house,Senator Ajimobi emphasised that the document tagged
budget of sustainability was designed to sustain the tempo of
development achieved so far.
Speaking further, Ajimobi said the
2019 Appropriation bill is structured to reflect the priority government
has accorded the various sectors in terms of their expected
developmental effects.
Breaking down the estimates, the economic sector is expected to gulp a total of 61.50% of the total budget.
Law and justice 0.41%,social 30.19% while administration will take 7.90% of the budget.
Responding,Speaker
of the House, Honourable Olagunju Ojo assured that the legislature
would continue to partner the executive in moving the state forward.
Hence,the need to urgently attend to the Appropriation bill.
The
state government says it would embark on digital mapping of the state
while also spreading its tentacles to critical sectors like Agriculture,
works and transport,housing amongst other spheres.
