Mutfwang said he was not given a fair hearing by the Appellate Court, adding this to the eight points he brought to the Court of Appeal to support the legitimacy of his election, of which only one was found. He made these claims while presenting the Supreme Court with his case.
He claimed that the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of the seven points he brought up went against the Supreme Court’s order that subordinate courts make decisions on all cases that come before them.
He begged the Supreme Court to recognize him as Plateau State’s legitimately elected governor.
The eight-member Senior Advocates of Nigeria team, lead by Kanu Agabi, submitted a brief to the Supreme Court on behalf of Mutfwang. They stated that “the law is settled that wherever there is a wrong, there must be a remedy.”
Tuesday is the day the Supreme Court will hear his brief.
Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, claimed Wednesday that the Court of Appeal had treated him unfairly by declaring his election invalid.
