On Friday 10th May, 2019, Ugbe Dominic, a 200 level Student of the department of Guidance and Counseling, faculty of Education, Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Calabar Campus, lost his life in a pool party.

The student died after consuming excessive water during a pool party which was said to be hosted by his department. The party took place at Jacaranda Hotel and suites, Calabar.

By the time he was rushed to the hospital and medical examinations carried out the Obudu born had passed on, it was gathered.

Shockingly, the institution have lost not fewer than four Students this semester.
