Harmanpreet Kaur Is Suspended For Two Games After An Outburst Against Bangladesh.

Harmanpreet Kaur is suspended for two games after an outburst against Bangladesh.

After getting dismissed, Harmanpreet smashed her own stumps with her bat, and she later criticized the umpires following the third One-Day International against Bangladesh that ended in a stalemate.

Since the ICC began publicly disclosing code of conduct violations in 2016, Harmanpreet is the first female player to receive a Level 2 sentence after entering a guilty plea.

75% of her match cost was fined to her.

“We controlled the game very well, but some pathetic umpiring was done, and we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires,” Harmanpreet said following Saturday’s ODI.

The India captain was docked a penalty point and 25% of her match money for her remarks.

By breaking her stumps, the 34-year-old violated rule 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which prohibits “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision,” and was assessed three more demerit points in addition to losing 50% of her salary.

As of right now, Harmanpreet will miss the beginning of India’s Asian Games campaign, which runs from September 23 through October 8 in Hangzou, China.
