
A man from Kaduna State who was allegedly involved in the theft of two horses in Niger was captured by security personnel.
The culprit was caught while attempting to bring the stolen horses to Kaduna State.
Wasiu Abiodun, the PRO of the Niger State Police Command, revealed in a statement on Thursday that Ahmed Aliyu of Zaria in Kaduna State stole two mares from a farm in Niger State and hid them in a bush before hiring transporters to bring them to Kaduna for N100,000.
“The complainant strongly suspected one Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu’m’ of Zaria, Kaduna who was on the farm and had been visiting the farm for horse grooming and racing,” the complaint read.
When questioned, the suspect admitted to the crime of moving the two horses from the farm to a nearby bush and then hiring a vehicle from the park to transport the animals to Kaduna for N100,000. The suspect was then immediately taken into custody from the farm.
