INEC Declares PDP’s Ikpeazu Winner Of Abia State Governorship Election

The
Returning Officer for the Abia State gubernatorial election, Professor
Benjamin Ozumba has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic
Party, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, as the winner of the election.

Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who polled 261,127 to defeat his rivals of the APC and PDP, is the incumbent governor.

Professor
Ozumba said Dr Ikpeazu, having satisfied all electoral requirements and
scored the highest number of votes, is declared the winner and returned
elected.

However, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the
All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the state have all rejected
both the process and the outcome of the election.

Below is the total number of votes recorded for the parties:

APC – 99574
APGA- 64366
PDP – 261127
