It has been quietly wiped off the big screen – Former Presidential aide laments the underreporting of the street beggars that approached Ishowspeed during the streamer’s visit to Lagos

Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has lamented about the seeming under reporting of the street beggars that accosted US streamer, Ishowspeed during visit to Lagos state.
A video showing the moment some men approached Ishowspeed and asked him to ‘’show them love” while taking a tour on the streets of Lagos, went viral. The youtuber did not know the local parlance and asked what the beggars were saying.
They responded by saying ‘’give us money”
IShowspeed then asked if they take US dollars
In a Twitter exchange with a northerner who felt the begging incident wasn’t well reported, Bashir argued that when it comes to media coverage, the North has always been left at the mercy of a narrative shaped from those who live outside of the region. He argued that if the begging incident had happened somewhere in the North, it wouldn’t have been tolerated but as it happened in Lagos, it has been quietly swept under the carpet and everyone has moved on from it without condemning it.
