Veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has praised the Nigerian police for sacking officers who engage in unprofessional conduct.
The actor cum lawyer said apart from discharging such officers, they should also be prosecuted in the court of law.
KOK said by prosecuting the rotten security officials, it would serve as deterrent to the others and restore the confidence of the public in the force.
The thespian played a video of a senior officer sounding a note of warning to his colleagues to quit checking people’s phones and engaging in other unwholesome and unofficial duties.
“You must not be caught in the web of checking people’s phones or taking people to ATM and POS machines. You will be dealt with decisively”, the officer said in the video
Remarking on the video, Kanayo wrote: “By the shameful activities of some of its men, The Nigeria Police Force loses respect and credibility in the eyes of the public everyday.
“While commending the NPF so far for discharging many of its officers, PROSECUTION OF THESE OFFICERS in our courts will serve more deterrent to restore confidence amongst members of the public. @nigeriapoliceforce.”
