Lagos 2019: How We Will Defeat APC – Ogunsanya
The governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, in Lagos State, Mrs. Adebisi Ogunsanya, has expressed confidence that her party would cause upset during the 2019 election.
Ogunsanya stated this in a chat with newsmen on Sunday.
According to her, “Our people are all over the local government areas in the state and country. Together we will take our message to the grassroots.
“We will defeat them because what we are offering are what the people will key into. This is more than a political party, YPP is a movement. Things were not like this when we were growing up.
“We care about the tomorrow of this country. We need to set up the right foundation, things cannot go on this way.”
On governance, Ogunsanya vowed to run a transparent and open government.
She said: “We’ll ensure open bidding for projects. There’s secrecy in the current governance and many have continued to speak against this.
“This has to stop. It’s not witch-hunt but we must know how to begin. 4 million Lagosians are out of job, the employment rate still alarming.
“People leave home and don’t even know where to find the day’s meal. This makes the state porous. We’ll create Shelter. Some have menial jobs but have no roof over their head. We will see how we can ameliorate this.
“We will build a job employment centre, get data of capable hands and see how we can engage them.
“The place will be for the skilled and unskilled. It’s hard to contain crime because there are no records. Any state or country that seeks progress and a safe environment must know its people.
“Similarly, we will invest in human capital development, infrastructure so that tax payers get value for their money”.
