On the nation’s independence day, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) claimed that people who protested outside the Nigeria High Commission in London were patriotic Nigerians living abroad who were merely expressing their displeasure at what they believed to be injustice.
A group called APC Stakeholders had opposed the Kano tribunal ruling, which led to several Nigerians protesting in London.
