There was massive jubilation by a huge crowd in the Jalingo residence of Hajiya Aisha Alhassan, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development who is popularly known as Mama Taraba. The minister arrived Taraba state from Abuja after attending the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the acting President, Yemi Osinbajo.
She was welcomed warmly by the large crowd who gathered at her residence to receive her as her security aides had a tough time in controlling the supporters.
Meanwhile, Speaking at the 18th Regular National Council Meeting by the Women Affairs and Social Development held in Lagos on Thursday, Alhassan said she would stay in the ruling party to contest the 2019 governorship election.
She said, ”Contrary to whatever speculations going round, I will remain in APC to contest Governorship election of Taraba State.”
