A 32-year-old man named Gbenga Kolawole has been taken into custody by the Ogun State Police Command on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl in Adubi, within the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement released on Friday, Omolola Odutola, the command’s public relations officer, stated that the suspect was taken into custody as a result of a mother’s allegation.
According to Odutola, Kolawole exploited the victim’s inebriation, “took her to a nearby bar shop, locked her there and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her” before Sunday Ibrahim spotted him in the act.
In a different development, the PPRO revealed that officers from the Sango Divisional Police Headquarters detained Alao James in Ilo Ota, Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State, on suspicion of stealing a Toyota RAV4 SUV that belonged to Elogie Polycarp and had the license plate MUS 580 JA.
