Manchester United are set to lose out on one of the long-term transfer target as Tottenham have made a last-ditch bid to hijack their deal for Sergio Reguilon.
The left-back was brilliant for Sevilla during their Europa League semifinal victory over Ole Gunnars Solskjaer’s men and the Los Blancos have given the green light for the transfer this summer after the English giants indicated interest.
Man United agreed to pay Reguilon’s £27.5m fee but refused to accept a buy-back clause from the Spanish giants. However, Tottenham have swooped in and agreed a deal with Real Madrid that will see the Los Blancos repurchase him for less than £37m.
Interestingly, Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of Reguilon and after telling Danny Rose that he is not wanted at the club – he is ready to welcome a new left-back at the London club.
