Man who accused Minister David Umahi of owing him N7m apologises

A man who earlier accused Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, of owing him N7 million has publicly withdrawn the allegation and issued an apology.

In the apology, Nkama admitted that the earlier video, which circulated widely on social media, was made out of anger and frustration.

He described the statement as a “derogatory post video” and expressed regret for making the claims against the former governor of Ebonyi State.

According to him, the minister does not owe him any money directly.

“My leader, most distinguished Senator, Engineer David Umahi, I wish to clarify that the honourable minister is not owing me directly,” he said.

“I hereby wish to apologise publicly and to ask his excellency, Senator David Umahi to forgive me,” he stated.

He also promised not to repeat such actions in the future, describing Umahi as “a man of high integrity and a good man.”

Speaking on behalf of his family, Nkama said he regretted the earlier outburst and asked for understanding from the minister and the public.

On behalf of my family, wife and well-wishers, I publicly apologize,” he said.

He added that if he goes back on his word in the future, the minister has the right to take legal action against him without prior notice.
