In anticipation of Senate approval, President Bola Tinubu gave his blessing on Thursday to Mr. Ola Olukoyede’s appointment as the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for a four-year initial term that is renewable.
This occurs over four months after Tinubu suspended Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former head of the anti-graft agency.
According to a statement penned by Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, “Mr. Olukoyede’s appointment follows the resignation of the suspended Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa,” it was announced on Thursday.
