NAPTIP launches investigation into alleged cases of sexual assault in daycare centers hours after a X user made wide claims about his time at singer Simi’s mother’s daycare

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons says it has launched an investigation into alleged cases of sexual assault in daycare centers in Nigeria.
The agency announced the investigation in a statement this morning February 24 hours after an X-user claimed he attended singer Simi’s mother’s daycare and that the singer did things to him and other children.
Simi has been trending on social media for a while after some Netizens dug old tweets of her making ‘inappropriate’ comments about little boys who attended her mum’s daycare.
On Monday, February 23, an X user took to his handle to claim that he attended Simi’s mother’s daycare and that he has memories of things the singer did to him and other kids that should never have been done to any child.




Following the series of allegations, NAPTIP in a statement released on its social media handles this morning February 24, said it takes all reports of child sexu@l abuse/misconduct seriously and are committed to investigating every credible claim as regards the trending claims of sexu@l ass@ults in daycare settings in Nigeria. It mentioned that if anyone has factual information, evidence, or were directly affected, such persons should reach out confidentially via DM or email info@naptip.gov.ng.
