Newcastle Vs Chelsea:- Alonso Speaks On Controversial Penalty

Chelsea left wing-back, Marcos Alonso has spoken about the controversial penalty he was awarded in their 2-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday.

Fabian Schar was penalised for a lunge on Alonso midway through the second half.

Replays showed that the Swiss centre-back got the ball but the referee’s mind was made up as he pointed to award the penalty.

The spot kick was converted by Eden Hazard and Alonso is convinced that it was the “right decision.”

He told Sky Sports, “I think I touch the ball and then I get in front of the player, in between the player and the ball and when I’m going to pass to [Olivier] Giroud, I just went down because he make me down (sic).

“I think right decision. Good win. Three points are massive for us.”
