A Nigerian kidnapper, Samuel Udoetuk-Wills who escaped from the custody
of the Takoradi Metropolitan Police Command in Ghana on 30th December,
has been recaptured by the police.
Samuel Udoetuk Wills a Nigerian was remanded into Ghanaian Police custody for the offense of kidnapping.
According
to reports, Udoetuk-Wills was recaptured in the wee hours of Friday by
three policemen in an abandoned building in the bush at Kanssawurodu,
near Takoradi.
It was gathered that the suspect was found
sleeping deeply in the disused building, however upon his arrest he
head-butted one of the policemen in an attempt to escape. He was
overpowered and is currently in custody.
He had been arrested on
December 22 in connection with the alleged kidnapping and disappearance
of a number of girls, for which a circuit court had placed him in police
custody to reappear on January 9, however, he mysteriously escaped from
cell with the suspected help of his guardians.
He has since been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Accra.
