Aderonke Kale, the first female Major-General of Nigeria, passed away on Friday. President Bola Tinubu called it a terrible loss for the nation.
At the age of 84, Kale, who was also the first female Commander of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps, passed away on Thursday.
In a message of condolences written by his Special Advisor (Media and Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu expressed his sympathies to the Nigerian Army, the Kale family, and the medical community in Nigeria on the loss of one of their own.
The late Major General, according to Tinubu, “embodied the courage, professionalism, capacity, and resilience of the Nigerian woman” and was a pioneer in her sector.
