Obaseki’s Commissioner For Environment, Oni-Okpaku, Resigns

The Edo State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Dame Omoua Oni-Okpaku, has resigned her appointment, Igbere TV reports.

The Environment Commissioner tendered her resignation on Friday evening.

Hon. Oni-Okpaku confirmed her resignation to Igbere TV over the telephone.

“I resigned my position as Environment Commissioner earlier today,” she said, refusing further comments.

Her resignation is coming ahead of the forthcoming September 19 Edo Governorship election.

The past few days have seen several appointees of Governor Obaseki leaving his government since he left the APC for PDP.

Oni-Okpaku was said to have been threatened to decamp to the PDP or be fired, a threat that reportedly prompted her resignation.
