Okadigbo’s Wife May Join APC Since Ojukwu’s Wife, Bianca Is Into Politics Now (Learn More)
Wife of former Senate president, Senator Margery Okadigbo, may join the All Progressives Congress (APC), barring last minute permutations.
The Guardian was informed yesterday that Mrs. Okadigbo, who represented Anambra North in the 7th National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had been under pressure to join APC since she lost out in the PDP senatorial primary in 2015.
Her husband, the late Chuba Okadigbo, was running mate to Muhammadu Buhari in 2003 on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), before he went to the Senate.
Speaking on the planned defection, an APC senatorial aspirant in Anambra Central, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed yesterday that in a matter of days, Mrs. Okadigbo would join APC after due consultations.
“Nigerians should not be surprised with this move, bearing in mind that the late Chuba Okadigbo was a strong ally of President Buhari. In short, Buhari’s government still holds Okadigbo’s family in high esteem and will like it to be part of his government.”
