Muhammadu Buhari arrived in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom earlier today for a
rally marking the kick-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
presidential campaign themed Next Level.
On the President’s
entourage are chieftains of the party led by the national chairman,
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice
President Yemi Osibanjo and a host of others including some states
governors..
Adams Oshiomhole and governor Rochas Okorocha who
have been at loggerheads with other over the outcome of the APC
governorship primaries in Imo state, appeared to avoid each other and
gave themselves distance at the rally holding in Godswill Akpabio
International Stadium.
Okorocha had earlier said his ‘issue’
with Oshiomhole was that he allegedly “stole the mandate” of the people
of the state and “gave it away for reasons best known to him.”
The
governor stated that the name APC presented as its governorship
candidate was not the choice of people of the state. According to
Okorocha, Oshiomhole gave the party’s tickets in the state to people who
are not members of APC.
