Police invites Saraki over Offa robbery

OrderPaperToday – The Police have invited Senate President, Bukola Saraki over the robbery attack in Offa, Kwara state.

The incident took place on the 5th of April, where some armed robbers attacked five commercial banks in the community, killing more than 33 persons, including police officers.

Saraki had raised an alarm in May that some arrested suspected cultists were being transferred to Abuja under the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris in order to plot against him and the Governor of Kwara state.

Mr. Idris swiftly denied the allegation.

The Force PRO, Jimoh Moshood, while parading the suspects in Abuja on Sunday, disclosed confessions from their investigation which pointed at Saraki.

According to him, one Mr. Ayodele who is the leader of the robbery gang called Youth Liberation Movement a.k.a “Good Boys”, alleged that they were political thugs working for the Senate president since his tenure as Governor of Kwara state.

That Saraki and the incumbent Governor of Kwara state, Abdulfatah Ahmed provide them “firearms, money and operational vehicles.”

The statement said, “Meanwhile, the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki is being invited by the Nigeria Police Force to report to the Force Intelligence Response Team Office at Guzape, Abuja to answer to the allegations leveled against him from the confessions of the five gang leaders.”
