Defending champions, Real Madrid qualified for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Real Madrid alongside Roma were assured of finishing in the top two places of Group G after Viktoria Plzen beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 in the Russian capital.

Ajax also went through to the round of 16 by beating AEK Athens 2-0 in a match marred by crowd violence in Athens.
