Senator IGBOKWE’S DEFECTION
A member of the House of Representatives from Imo State, Nnanna Igbokwe, has defected from PDP to APC. Igbokwe’s letter of defection was read on the floor of the House of Representatives bY the speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
Igbokwe who represents Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte in the house, said the reason for defecting was because of the division in the PDP.
According to him, he joined the APC in January 2017 before the Supreme Court decided on the leadership tussle between the then caretaker committee chairman, Ahmed Makarfi and former Borno state governor, Ali Modu-Sheriff. Igbokwe added that he has stopped attending PDP functions both in his home state and the National Assembly since January when he registered with the APC.
Present in the chamber to receive him was the Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
