Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has been transferred to the criminal Intelligence department after he appeared at the Ikeja police command on Monday.
This comes after a viral video of him slapping a police officer appeared on the internet.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, had on Saturday ordered Mr Kuti’s arrest.
The IGP equally ordered a speedy and full investigation.
However, police could not find Seun when they visited his residence on Sunday. But on Monday, the singer surrendered himself to the police for investigation.
He was later transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence Department in Panti, Yaba area of Lagos state.
Seun Kuti was accompanied by Femi Falana, a senior lawyer.
The official outcome of the visitation is yet unknown as of press time.
