[STORY]:- Fever Eyes By; Chukwu Chinazaekpere Abigail

Choco my sister is sick, she has had malaria for days, and sometimes, a high fever hits alongside, so she hallucinates when that happens.

Last night when we were sleeping, she suddenly woke up, and with her sickness influenced tiny voice, she pointed at the wall and said “tell him to stop looking at me” then she closed her eyes and went back to bed. I touched her body, her temperature was dangerously on the high side, so I took a towel, soaked in water and put over her head, the coolness should stop her from seeing things when she wakes up.

When she woke up this morning, she asked me if I saw him, I asked her who, “the black guy wearing white na” I touched her head again, there was no fever, so what the heck was going on?
“no” I shrugged. She looked at me and frowned, then she asked for food and her drugs, I willingly obliged, I didn’t need her seeing strange things and scaring the shit out of me.

At 6:34pm, I decided to fetch water from the well outside, it was still bright outside but the passage was quite dark. I looked behind me and I can swear something disappeared. I shrugged and left.
When I was returning, I saw it again. It had a white shirt on. The image was faint.
I hurriedly carried my water into the house.

Few minutes after 10pm, choco began to hallucinate again. This time she said “tell him to stop laughing.” I was scared but I slept anyway.

I wanted to pee at 2:00am, I opened my eyes,and I saw him, wearing a white shirt, bent over me, looking directly into my face and smiling, wide toothed grin.

I closed by eyes back, turned my back at him and I slept, this pee would have to wait.
Choco is the one with a fever.
